After a great first 3 transplanted tales books, the author seems to have decided that more sex and less plot is what her readers want. Personally, I am not a big fan of lots of sex description, and usually skip over those few paragraphs or pages. I prefer a "fade to black" since for me, even in a romance, the plot and characters are primary and the sex scenes are just not important. After one, we know the author can write that,so why keep repeating it over and over?The plot has gone from inventive and fun to just an excuse to describe sex in just about every encounter, whether between the protagonist (which in this case the author has gone from first person female to trying to write first person male) and his long lost love, to the protagonist and whatever female character he's interacting with. Really? Boring, sorry.
I rarely give up on a book and don't finish, but in this case, I quit halfway through.

I can't wait for the next book in the series to come out. I love how the author took a simple storyline and put a twist on it.
I am a huge fan of all the books in the Transplanted Tales series and this is no exception. I love the way they put familiar characters into different situations. If you like Once Upon a Time, you will like these books.
Enchanting blend of intrigue, daring, love, ..... and snark. This series just gets better with every installation. I thought I figured out where book was going .... nope. Rollercoaster ride with lost relics, lost love, in search of happily ever after in the here and now.
I've read all of Kate SeRine's Transplanted Tales and this was my favorite one of them all. Told from Gideon's perspective, it offered the softer side of one of SeRine's tough heroes. I loved the twist on Robin Hood in this story. The romance in "Ever After" was strong and I found myself tearing up at the end.
I had waited so long for this book. It was worth the wait. I felt the heartache of Gideon and Arabele. I cried when she died and was excited when she found her way back. His love was so powerful and pure. Not only for her but to the king and his family. I cried at the end. It was so wonderful. It is a must read.
I had great expectations for this book and waited quite awhile for it. I'm a bit disappointed. The one thing I've always really liked about this romance series was appropriate and well-placed intimate scenes. This was not the case with book. The first half of the book was filled with pointless love scenes that didn't advance the plot, character developments or anything else. That being said the plot and character development of the second half of the book is amazing. It's a great story that kept me reading until the end. I wish there was better editing because I almost stopped reading before the best parts.
Overall, I have truly enjoyed the Transplanted Tales. However, I didn't think this one was on the same par as the others. While I did like Gideon, I wasn't so keen on Arabella. I just couldn't connect to her. I did enjoy the Camelot back story, but in my opinion, there were too many twists involved to make it mesh as a Tale. I also felt there was way too much sex in this one. I don't remember any of the other books having as much or it being as graphic. Don't get me wrong, reading sex doesn't bother me, but when a series of books has a certain tone, you expect it to stay the same
